Asbest kan in een grote verscheidenheid aan materialen verborgen zitten. Het is bewezen dat blootstelling aan deze giftige stof longkanker veroorzaakt. Met de Materiaalgroep 1 asbesttest zit u aan de veilige kant. Dit is vooral belangrijk als u als bedrijfseigenaar van een bouwbedrijf verantwoordelijk bent voor uw werknemers. Zelfs voor particuliere renovatie- of verbouwingswerkzaamheden is een vooranalyse van uw materialen (bijv. vezelcement, bitumenlijm, vilt) aan te raden. Afhankelijk van het materiaal kan het gespecialiseerde laboratorium in deze test een asbestgehalte van tussen 1% en 0,1% detecteren. In overeenstemming met VDI 3866-5 ontvangt u nauwkeurige resultaten dankzij ultramoderne laboratoriumanalyse. Bij een SEM-analyse voor asbest wordt het monster onder een scanning elektronenmicroscoop (SEM) met hoge vergroting onderzocht. De typische vezelachtige structuur van asbest is duidelijk zichtbaar in deze hoge-resolutiebeelden.

Waarom een analyse uitvoeren?

Wanneer is een asbesttest zinvol – en hoe wijdverspreid is asbest eigenlijk in Nederlandse gebouwen?

Asbest is in Nederland verboden sinds 1994. Maar dat betekent niet dat het probleem verdwenen is. Naar schatting bevatten 1,5 miljoen gebouwen in Nederland nog steeds asbest — vaak verborgen in muren, vloeren, plafonds of isolatiematerialen die tientallen jaren geleden zijn aangebracht en nooit zijn verstoord.

Voor de meeste mensen vormt asbest in een gebouw geen direct gevaar. Zolang het materiaal intact en onverstoord is, blijven de vezels gebonden en vormen ze geen risico. Het gevaar ontstaat wanneer asbesthoudende materialen worden aangeboord, geschuurd, gebroken of verwijderd — activiteiten die deel uitmaken van bijna elk renovatieproject.

Dit is vooral relevant voor oudere gebouwen. Volgens de Nederlandse wet is een asbestinventarisatie wettelijk verplicht vóór sloop- of renovatiewerkzaamheden aan gebouwen die vóór 1 januari 1994 zijn gebouwd. Deze verplichting geldt voor zowel huiseigenaren, verhuurders als aannemers — en niet-naleving kan leiden tot boetes tot €30.000. Vanaf dat moment rust de verantwoordelijkheid bij de eigenaar van het pand.

Maar ook buiten geplande renovatiewerkzaamheden zijn er situaties waarin testen zinvol is. Huishoudens met afbrokkelende plafond- of wandmaterialen, onverklaarbare stofophoping of zichtbare schade aan oudere bouwelementen kunnen al blootgesteld zijn aan losse vezels — zonder zich hiervan bewust te zijn. In deze gevallen kan een huisstofonderzoek bepalen of er asbestvezels in de leefomgeving aanwezig zijn, zonder dat er materiaal verwijderd hoeft te worden.

Het onderscheid tussen materiaaltypen is hier ook van belang. Niet alle asbesthoudende materialen dragen hetzelfde risico. Hechtgebonden materialen zoals vloertegels of gevelpanelen worden geclassificeerd als Materiaal Groep 1 — deze hebben een lager risico wanneer ze intact zijn. Niet-hechtgebonden materialen zoals isolatie, spuitcoatings of pijpisolatie worden geclassificeerd als Materiaal Groep 2 — deze laten gemakkelijker vezels vrij wanneer ze worden verstoord en vereisen een nauwkeurigere analysemethode met een lagere detectiegrens.

Daarom is wachten tot de renovatiedag te laat. Als u wilt weten of uw woning asbest bevat — en welk type — is een laboratoriumanalyse de enige betrouwbare manier om dit te achterhalen. Dit is vooral belangrijk als u bouwplannen heeft, een oudere woning koopt of gewoon zekerheid wilt over de veiligheid van uw leefomgeving.

Om toegang te krijgen tot uw analyseresultaten, moet u zich registreren op onze website en de in de verpakking opgenomen stalencode opgeven. Hierdoor kunnen wij de analyse koppelen aan uw specifieke staal en het retourlabel genereren dat bij de prijs is inbegrepen.
Asbest is uiterst gevaarlijk voor uw gezondheid. Voor uw eigen bescherming raden wij u sterk aan een FFP3-masker, een veiligheidsbril en wegwerphandschoenen te dragen bij het nemen van monsters.
Voor officieel of juridisch gebruik van analyseresultaten is het doorgaans vereist dat monsters worden genomen door gekwalificeerd personeel. Omdat dit hogere kosten met zich mee kan brengen, raden wij u aan eerst zelf een analyse uit te voeren voor uw eigen monitoring. Mocht u later formeel monstername door gecertificeerde experts nodig hebben, dan adviseren wij u graag.
Wij versturen onze monsternamekits in milieuvriendelijke, neutrale verpakkingen. U kunt deze verpakking hergebruiken bij het terugsturen van uw monster naar ons laboratorium – dit bespaart tijd en spaart grondstoffen. De foto's van de verpakking zijn alleen ter illustratie.
Houd er rekening mee dat het monster binnen 24 maanden na ontvangst van de kit moet worden genomen en naar ons moet worden gestuurd.

Anyone wanting to quickly and easily have a material sample tested for asbestos has come to the right place. The enclosed instructions are excellent; they explain how to take the sample and the subsequent steps in a truly foolproof way. The simple online registration and activation of the sample in the lab were also a breeze. Just mail the sample, and that's it. After two weeks, I was able to view the results online. I'm absolutely satisfied.

The asbestos test on my roof covering worked perfectly. We sent a sample to the lab in the provided sample bag using the free shipping label and received the results quickly. The instructions regarding the sample's appearance and what to look out for were detailed.

The sample collection process is well described, the lab is always reachable by phone, delivery and results notification are quick and problem-free.

Registration was easy and the results were available online promptly. The only downside: the advertising in the report makes the analysis seem less than reputable.

The results came back 14 days after sending the sample; now I need expensive specialists to remove a small garden roof... at least I won't be converted to cancer through ignorance.

You receive a cardboard envelope with instructions and a small plastic bag. The sample is packed in the bag and sent to the lab in the cardboard envelope. A code is affixed to the envelope for sample identification, so the original envelope must be used. Unfortunately, the cardboard envelopes are sealed. It would be easier if the original adhesive seal on the envelope could be used. It would also be desirable to be able to pack multiple samples in one envelope. You have to register online with the lab and activate the sample envelope numbers. I purchased six tests, but activation was only necessary for one. The others were automatically assigned to my user account. This was convenient for me, but it means you can't purchase multiple tests for different users. After registering the tests, you can download a DHL return label and send the samples free of charge. The shipment to the lab can be tracked via DHL. You can also enter a sample description so you know what was tested later. After a few days, you can retrieve the test results. All my tests were completed at different times; no test lasted longer than a week.

The result arrived within 4 days. I am very satisfied.

I'm thrilled, because this allowed me to quickly rule out a suspicion and approach everything very carefully. Super fast, and a reputable institute/laboratory was involved in the analysis! I would gladly use their services again!

The only downside is the price.

All test results were received significantly faster than ordered (10 days). However, despite registering with Ivario, the results were only accessible via email. Only one of the six results was displayed in the customer area of the website.

Some reviewers apparently didn't read the instructions. You do NOT have to pay for sending the sample yourself. You register on the Ivario website and receive a DHL label via email for sending the sample to Ivario. The sample is sent in the box shown in the product photo. Everything is included in the purchase price. The lab results were available after two days and I was able to access them online. Highly recommended.

Good explanation, easy application, comprehensive report.

Sample sent in using the provided envelope (postage paid), registered online, result was available within the stated timeframe, even before an email arrived from the institute (which I still haven't received). In other words, you obviously don't need to wait for the email to view the result. If necessary, I would order from them again.

We followed the instructions and printed the shipping label from the page linked in the QR code. Just 5 days later, we received an email with the result. Excellent service.
